SERVICES

NBI employs approximately 200 people in vocational programs in four California counties: Marin, Sonoma, Contra Costa and Monterey. There are five separate and distinct lines of business operated to support the programs: flag manufacturing; grounds maintenance; janitorial services; food services, and work group leasing.
NBI also develops rental property for people with low incomes and disabilities through separate corporations. At present 61 rental units are completed: 10 in Mill Valley, 14 in San Anselmo, 13 in Petaluma, and 24 in Rohnert Park.

Flag Manufacturers
In Sonoma County, NBI manufactures the National Interment flag (5.5' x 9')for the Department of Veteran's Affairs.  American flag

Activity Center
North Bay Industries offers a site-based Activity Center for adults with developmental disabilities at 5720 Labath Avenue, Rohnert Park. Consumers are matched with their personal interest, abilities and stamina to several activity choices. An Activity Associate assigned to each group of six individuals with disabilities will assist in choosing the activities.

Food Service
North Bay Industries supplies Mess Attendants for the Coast Guard Training Center, Petaluma, California dining hall. Approximately 25,000 meals are served monthly.

Grounds Maintenance
North Bay Industries has contracts for the grounds at Hamilton Field Coast Guard Housing (Marin County); Coast Guard Training Center, Petaluma (Sonoma County); Naval Weapons Station, Concord (Contra Costa County); the Naval Postgraduate School and Presidio of Monterey (Monterey County). These are large contracts for mowing, trimming, and watering.

Janitorial Services
NBI has the janitorial services for the Shea Federal Building, Santa Rosa (Sonoma County) and the Naval Weapons Station, Concord (Contra Costa County).

Work Group Program
In Sonoma, Monterey and Marin counties North Bay Industries (NBI) operates work groups (small groups of three to eight) in private businesses, including Agilent, Tellabs (formerly Advanced Fibre Communications), Mrs. Grossman's Paper Company, and Lowe's. NBI places workers at these sites along with supervisors to perform a variety of business services, such as microfilming, packaging and assembly, and assembly of computer components.
